As Medicare cutbacks and
Managed Care cut into the Hospital's bottom line, MEA has
acted to assist MEA affiliated Hospitals in increasing Emergency
Department revenue. Over the years it has become apparent
that our hospital partners needed assistance in optimizing
emergency medicine coding and reimbursement. As a result,
we have established relationships with vendors that have
special expertise in this area. Through these relationships,
MEA affiliated hospitals have had tremendous success in improving
documentation and other systems resulted in improved charge
